Supreme Court...are you listening to me?
I don’t share political messages as much as I used to, however, in light of the Supreme Court’s decision tomorrow on Health Care Reform, I ask you to think of it in these terms: My brother battled a life-threatening medical emergency three years ago. If this legislation is struck down, he will not be eligible for health insurance should he ever lose his current coverage (because he now...

Christmas memories....
This true story appeared in the Mountaineer in Waynesville, NC earlier this week, penned by my aunt, Mary Ann Enloe. I’ve heard this story from my mom over the years, and my aunt’s writing captures the spirit of the memory - despite sad circumstances - beautifully. It’s easy to see that my mom’s spirit has always been kind and compassionate. I’m so thankful to have...

Hungry Hungry HAPPO...
If you’re a PR professional or student active on Twitter, Google Buzz, Facebook, etc., you may have seen the #happo hashtag sometime during the past week or so. Short for Help A PR Pro Out, Happo is the brainchild of the way awesome Arik Hanson and Valerie Simon.
Instead of using the power of social media for evil (though who in their right mind would do that?), PR folks from across the...

Golden Globes continued...
Damn. Did not want Avatar to win. Did not want to hear James Cameron again.
Overall, a good show, but not as raucous as I’d hoped it be. Not enough Ricky. And guys with bad hair (Cameron, Rourke, Kutcher) sort of killed it.
Golden Globes continued...
Kate Winslet is gorgeous - though I think I prefer her as a redhead. She is NOT on my list though. Too classy for me.
Jeff Bridges is a cool cat. Long overdue win for him. He’ll always be Starman to me though.
How awesome is it that Jeff thanked his stand-in? How do you get a gig like that?
Not digging Samuel L. Jackson’s spectacles.
Golden Globes continued...
Bradley Cooper. Bradley Cooper. Bradley Cooper.
Reese Witherspoon is also on my list. The really good list.
So thrilled The Hangover won. Funniest. Movie. Ever.
Fat Jesus not at the awards. How can that be?
Has Arnold had some work done? His face is too smooth.
Mickey Rourke. I don’t even know where to begin.
Sandra Bullock also on my list. But her dress is awful. Loved that she...
Golden Globes continued...
Jodie Foster looks fab!
Ricky takes a shot at Mel Gibson and his drinking “issue.” I actually think Mel’s been drinking tonight. He’s leaning sideways.
James Cameron looks like a fool with long gray hair. What an arrogant ass, too.
Holla! Glee wins! Glee wins! Glee wins! I can sleep happy tonight!
Glee creator thanks his fake sexy teen cast. This is why I love my...
Golden Globes continued...
Marty Scorsese is aging VERY well.
Leo DiCaprio just doesn’t do it for me. Too much of a baby face.
I’ve only seen one Scorsese film in my life - Cape Fear. Must fix this.
I did not like that the Scorsese tribute ended with a promo for his next film. Shameless.
Why is Julia Roberts sitting with Paul McCartney?
Golden Globes continued...
AT&T - I beg you. Please replace Luke Wilson as your spokesperson. Perhaps Bradley Cooper?
Jane Lynch was robbed. Simple as that.
I don’t like Chloe Sevigney.
Halle Berry just got added to my list. You know which list I’m talking about.
Golden Globes continued...
There’s not been enough Ricky Gervais.
Did Emily Blunt have her teeth capped? She looks a little different than she did in The Devil Wears Prada. I’m jealous she’s marrying Jim Halpert.
Sophia Loren looks amazing. Just wish she’d update her eyewear. Those frames and tinted lenses are about 20 years old.
One shouldered dresses are obviously the trend this season. Not...
Golden Globes continued...
No sign of Bradley Cooper yet. Golden Globes FAIL.
I like Cameron Diaz’s dress, but not the color. Perhaps a shade of purple would be better?
Ricky Gervais - “This next category is a bit of a downer. It’s about writers.”
“It’s not the words you say, it’s how good you look when you’re saying them.”
Jen Anistion and Gerard Butler looked...
Golden Globes continued...
Helen Mirren is a stunning lady.
I don’t know that I could watch “Precious’ without having a breakdown. I’m too fragile for movies like that.
When did facial hair make a comeback? Like - full beards? Not a fan.
Did Kevin Bacon’s eyes get bluer? And how proud was Kyra? I love their love story.
I’m in love with Drew Barrymore’s dress. So appropriate...
Golden Globes continued...
Verve is an underused word. I’m gonna use that tomorrow.
Notice that they’re not playing Meryl off with music.
Honest, compassionate speech from Meryl (also now known as T-Bone).
Golden Globes continued...
Amy Adams’ shoes are fantastic.
James Brolin suddenly looks 50 years old.
If I’m nominated for an award, I’m gonna make sure I know how to get to the stage BEFORE my category is announced so I don’t look like a goofball trying to find my way. My PR person is also gonna make sure I know what the path is.
Meryl Streep looks good tonight - sometimes she looks older than...
Golden Globes continued...
Christina Aguilera and Cher are looking hot. Love Christina’s hairdo. And Cher - I just love everything about her. I want to be her. Or Dolly Parton.
Need to see so many movies - particularly intrigued by The Single Man.
Don’t like the Oscar Mayer ad - seems out of place. When was the last time Clooney ate bologna? Probably never.
Golden Globes continued...
WOW - Kate Hudson looks phenomenal.
Can’t say it enough - I love Ricky Gervais.
I want Felicity Huffman’s bracelet.
I don’t think I like the skinny tie trend…..or the small collars on men’s shirts.
Love that Julianna Margulies won, but the dress was a mess.
I love that George Clooney kissed Julianna on her way to the stage. Doug and Carol forever!
Golden Globes continued....
When did William Hurt become the Unabomber?
Camera shots between people’s armpits is distracting.
Fergie looks great with darker hair.
Love Tracy Morgan in a white tux.
Golden Globes live blog....
First impressions:
I worship at the Church of Ricky Gervais.
Nicole Kidman has GOT to stop wearing dresses that match her skin. Trust me - I’m translucent like she is, and bold colors are best.
Harrison Ford looks a little creepy….and it pains me to say that.
The chick from Modern Family with the hispanic accent (sorry I don’t know her name) has an amazing dress.

Jags missed opportunity; Del Rio should have been...
Despite my tweets, posts and status updates that appear to be anti-Jaguars, I am actually a big fan of the team, and want nothing more than for them to succeed both on and off the field. I’ve been a season ticket holder since Day 1, and will be renewing my seats for the 2010 season the minute I get my invoice.
However, I continue to be mystified by some of the choices the team makes with...

Four suggestions for the Jaguars
1. Jack Del Rio must take responsibility for the team’s mediocrity (assuming he keeps his job). Just one time, I want to see JDR address the media and fans to accept responsibility for a disappointing season. As head coach, the buck stops with him. Show us that it matters. Tell the fans you’re frustrated, too; tell us that you’re not going to let it happen again. Hell -...

Bribery never hurt anyone. Or did it?
I think I’ve fallen into a somewhat sad pattern of behavior…my guilt over being a working mom is causing me to buy my children’s love. How exactly? First, let’s start with my son’s birthday.
He turned 10 on December 20, and though cursed with the dreaded holiday birthday, we’ve always done our best to plan his party and birthday activities early in December to...

Marshmallow Bazooka Launcher? Yes, please.
Let’s cut to the chase…there are some unique, and some would dare say, cool items in SkyMall Magazine. I mean - Santa is on the cover this month - and so is the Slanket (Snuggie’s high-priced cousin from the Upper West Side). So I’m already liking it.
However, while killing time with this month’s issue on my flight home from Nash Vegas, I found some items that even I...
